This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Footyboxd mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the app.

• Match reviews, ratings, and comments you submit
• Friend connections and follow preferences (teams, leagues, players)

Information collected automatically:

• Device information: device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
• Usage data: features used, screens visited, and interactions within the app
• Push notification token (for delivering match notifications)

Information we do not collect:

• We do not collect payment information
• We do not collect precise GPS location
• We do not collect phone numbers
• We do not track you across third-party apps or websites

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Display your profile, reviews, and activity within the app
• Deliver push notifications about matches and updates for teams you follow
• Enable social features such as following other users and viewing their public reviews
• Improve and personalise your in-app experience
• Respond to your support requests
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: third-party vendors who assist us in operating the app (e.g. cloud hosting, push notification services), bound by confidentiality obligations
• Public profile information: your username and public reviews are visible to other users of the app
• Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or governmental authority
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and secure server infrastructure. We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Third-Party Services

The app integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google) — push notifications and analytics
• Keycloak — authentication
• SportMonks — football data

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

10. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to inform you of match events for teams you follow. You can manage or disable push notifications at any time through your device notification settings or within the Footyboxd app under More › Notifications.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. For material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent in-app notice. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
